Cash Control Manager

Are you a confident, natural leader with a strong background in cash management operations?
Do you thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment where attention to detail is key?
If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are currently seeking a Cash Control Manager to join our retail client with over 500+ stores and a growing online presence.
With a high volume of sales transactions from multiple sites, our cash control team plays a crucial role in ensuring that all cash allocations and related transaction discrepancies are accounted for correctly, and that appropriate controls are adhered to.

As our Cash Control Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure that designated cash processing, reconciliation, and reporting functions are completed in a timely manner while complying with policy and regulations.
You will oversee a team of five and be responsible for their development and training in line with company policies and processes.

Your key tasks will include ensuring that all aspects of daily and monthly cash accounting are carried out correctly and on a timely basis, including daily posting of the cash book, daily analysis and breakdown of cash, importing credit cards and sales information into the accounting system, and multi-currency bank reconciliations and cash discrepancy analysis.

You will also be responsible for all cash and bank-related month-end journals and reconciliations, investigating variances and ensuring that reconciliations are carried out on a timely and regular basis and are correct.
In addition, you will be proactive in identifying risks, strengthening controls, and improving processes, liaising with key external cash and banking contacts to build productive relationships and ensure that the business receives the appropriate support from third parties. You will also work alongside the retail operations team to monitor and review store float levels and assist with any store cash issues.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a confident, natural leader with a hands-on approach and the ability to explain and demonstrate processes to a relatively inexperienced team. You will be naturally inquisitive and not shy to question processes and procedures, able to work quickly and accurately under time pressure with high attention to detail, and comfortable with remote learning and working and leading a team.

You will have strong organisational skills, be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change, and have a confident and professional manner with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to all levels on all platforms. You will be able to prioritise and reprioritise, understanding the wider impact of actions, and willing to share knowledge and experience with others to aid their development. Advanced Excel knowledge is also essential.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for career progression and development. So if you’re ready to take on a new challenge and make your mark in the world of cash control and processing, apply now and join our team!
